I gave a present for my mother on Mother's Day. ははのひに プレゼントをあげました。Ireciebed
a book from my teacher.せんせいにほんをもらいました。
My teacher gave me a book.先生は私にほんをくれました。

meaning of てあげます is "do something for someone". てくれますis "someone
do somethings to me."te-moraimasu. means "recieve benefit from
an action by someone"てもらいます。
